BRODY ROA WARMS UP FOR VENTURA WITH A WIN AT VENTURA!

(Buena Park, CA, May 2, 2018) Brody Roa warmed up for this Saturday’s USAC/CRA Sprint Car Series race at the Ventura Raceway by winning the main event last Saturday night at, you guessed it, the Ventura Raceway. For the 27-year old driver, it was his third win in seven starts in 2018.

With a night off from the USAC/CRA Series and a Ventura Racing Association event on the same track that he will be competing on this week, the Garden Grove, California racer took advantage to get in some extra laps. He did it in style sweeping the show winning both his heat and the main event on the tight, oceanside clay oval.

The stakes will be higher for Roa this Saturday when he competes in the toughest sprint car series west of the Mississippi at its only stop in Ventura in 2018. After three races in the USAC/CRA Series this year, Roa has one second, one third and one fourth place finish. Those finishes have him firmly planted in second place in the championship standings, only 16-points out of first.

At the series last race two weeks ago, Roa was the fast qualifier, placed second in his heat and finished second in the main event. In the USAC/CRA Series only appearance at Ventura last year, he was the second fast qualifier, finished fourth in his heat and third in the main event.

For fans who would like to attend Saturday’s race at Ventura, the spectator gates will open at 3:00 P.M. and the first race will take the green flag at 5:00. The track is located at 10 West Harbor Boulevard in Ventura (93001). The track phone number is (805) 648-RACE and the website is http://venturaraceway.com/

Roa is still looking for rides in the USAC National and West Coast Series’ when his USAC/CRA schedule (which is at the end of this release) permits. Car owners from those series interested in hiring Roa can call him at 714-932-7994.

BRODY ROA TAKES 2nd AT PERRIS AUTO SPEEDWAY OPENER!

(Buena Park, CA, April 24, 2018) Brody Roa’s impressive season continued last Saturday night when he recorded a second-place finish in the annual “Sokola Shootout” at Perris Auto Speedway’s first USAC/CRA Sprint Car Series race of 2018. The runner up finish gives Roa five top four finishes in his first six races this year.

A large crowd showed up to catch its first 2018 glimpse of the USAC/CRA Series at the famous Riverside County half-mile clay oval. Roa was one of the many drivers who gave the fans their moneys worth. In qualifying, he turned in the fastest time in the 25-car field with a sizzling 16.378. For that effort he pocketed $100.00 from the Woodland Auto Display. For the 27-year-old, it was his fifth lifetime fast time in the series.
The veteran Garden Grove, California driver raced from sixth to finish second in his heat race and that guaranteed his outside row three starting spot in the main event.

After the original start was called back, Roa immediately began to move forward once the green flag waved. He stole the fifth-place spot on the second go around and a couple of laps later, he raced his way up to fourth. He then advanced to third on a lap five restart.

Roa took the second spot away on lap 16, but the track was taking rubber and passing would soon become at a premium. Try as he might, catching the leader did not happen. On lap 28 Roa received a stiff onslaught for his second place position. He did manage to fight off the assault and crossed under the checkered flag with his third straight podium finish and his fourth podium of the 2018 campaign.

“We will take second,” Roa told the big crowd moments after climbing out of the bright green #91R. “I don’t know if we would have had something for him if it did not take rubber. But, once it does (track take rubber) you just get in line and don’t burn your stuff up. Ventura is next. We will have our stuff together there. Thank you to all of the fans for coming out tonight.”

The Ventura race Roa was referring to will take place on May 5th. Heading into that event he is second in the USAC/CRA championship point standings and is only 16-points out of first. That race will be followed up by the next show at Perris Auto Speedway, the annual “Salute to Indy,” on Memorial Day weekend. Soon after that the BR Performance team will head to the Midwest for the first time in 2018 for races in Nebraska and Iowa.

Roa is still looking for rides in the USAC National and West Coast Series’ when his USAC/CRA schedule (which is at the end of this release) permits. Car owners from those series interested in hiring Roa can call him at 714-932-7994.

BRODY ROA TAKES 3RD AT TULARE – RACING AT PERRIS THIS SATURDAY!

(Buena Park, CA, April 18, 2018) Brody Roa returned to action in the USAC/CRA Sprint Car Series last Saturday night and placed third in the main event at the Thunderbowl Raceway in Tulare, California. The finish propelled him from sixth to second in the championship standings heading into this Saturday’s race at Perris Auto Speedway.

A week after his win at the nearby Keller Auto Speedway in Hanford, the Garden Grove based driver and his team made the 200 mile trek to Tulare for the series only appearance of the year. Nineteen other cars were on hand for the first USAC/CRA race at the Thunderbowl since 2013. When qualifying came to a conclusion, Roa timed in third quick with a lap of 16.021. He then came from sixth starting spot to place second in his 10-lap heat race.

The 27-year-old started the 30-lap main event in the fourth starting slot. Using the outside, he momentarily raced his way into third place on lap two. One go around later he was up to second before slipping back to third.

Roa stayed in third until the midway point of the race when he again took over the runner up spot on the track that was taking rubber. On a lap 16 restart he momentarily poked his nose into the lead coming off turn two, but could not assert himself into the top spot. He did the same a few times more, but could never wrestle the point position away from the leader. When the checkered flag waved, he crossed the line with a hard earned third place finish.

“I was trying to go where Austin (race winner Austin Liggett) wasn’t,” Roa explained to longtime announcer Bobby Gerould after the race. “I was trying to do anything I could. We were a little free getting through the center of one and two. I could get alongside him coming off, but I could not do anything with him (past that). All in all it was a good night and now we are on to Perris.”

The team is poised and ready for this Saturday’s race at the home track of the USAC/CRA Series, Perris Auto Speedway. Known as “The PAS,” it was the site of the biggest win of Roa’s career when he won the Friday night main at the prestigious Oval Nationals last November.

Fans who would like to attend this Saturday’s race in Perris can find the track at 18700 Lake Perris Drive (92571). The office phone is 951-940-0134 and the track website is available at the following link http://perrisautospeedway.com/

After this week’s race in Perris, the team will get a week off before journeying to the Ventura Raceway for a USAC/CRA race on Cinco de Mayo.

Roa is still looking for rides in the USAC National and West Coast Series’ when his USAC/CRA schedule (which is at the end of this release) permits. Car owners from those series interested in hiring Roa can call him at 714-932-7994.

BRODY ROA WINS MAIN AT HANFORD – RACING AT TULARE THIS SATURDAY!

(Buena Park, CA, April 11, 2018) After last Saturday’s USAC West Coast Sprint Car Series main event at the Keller Auto Speedway at the Kings Fairgrounds in Hanford, California, Brody Roa is batting .500 on the season with two wins in four starts. This Saturday night he will attempt to up his impressive average when the USAC/CRA Sprint Cars compete at the Thunderbowl Raceway in Tulare, California.

Roa’s night at the Central California oval began when he qualified seventh fastest in the 20-car field. The 27-year-old started on the outside of the front row for his heat race and brought it home in second place.

For the 30-lap main event, the brilliant green BR Performance 91R started on the outside of the second row. Early in the yellow flag plagued race, it looked as though Roa was headed the wrong way as he slid all the way back to seventh. However, he slowly and methodically worked his way toward the front. By the midway point, he was up to third and the chase was on.

While most of the competition chose to hang close to the pole, Roa realized that was not going to work for him and he went to the outside. For the few who earlier dared to head out there, there was little to be found. That did not deter Roa. He hung with the wide line and it paid dividends. He swept into the lead coming off of turn four at the end of the 24th circuit. Soon after he fought off some determined challenges for the top spot and eventually pulled away to win his second main event of 2018 by nearly a half straightaway.

“It definitely was not easy, that is for sure,” Roa told the appreciative crowd after the race. “After the first few laps, we fell back to like seventh so we really had to work for this one. This place is pretty racy and it is super wide. It gives you the option to go up there and hustle it. It made it fun. We will be back up here later in the year with the 410 (USAC/CRA race on September 8).”

This coming Saturday’s race in Tulare will be the second for the USAC/CRA Series in 2018. In the first race at Canyon Speedway Park in Peoria, Arizona, Roa finished fourth. He heads into Saturday’s show sixth in USAC/CRA points.

After this week’s race in Tulare, the team will be right back at it when the USAC/CRA Series makes its first appearance of 2018 at Perris Auto Speedway. After a week off on April 28th, the BR Performance team will then journey to the Ventura Raceway for a USAC/CRA race on May 5th.

Fans who would like to attend this Saturday’s race in Tulare can find the track at 620 K Street (93274). The office phone is 559-688-0909 and the website is available at the following linkhttp://www.thunderbowlraceway.com/

BRODY ROA HEADED TO HANFORD USAC WEST COAST RACE ON SATURDAY

(Buena Park, CA, April 3, 2018) After having been off for nearly a month, 2016 USAC West Coast Sprint Car Series Champion Brody Roa and his BR Performance team will be headed to Keller Auto Speedway at the Kings Fairgrounds in Hanford, California for the USAC West Coast Series race this Saturday night.

Two years ago, when Roa won the USAC West Coast Series championship, Keller Auto Speedway handed the Garden Grove, California driver a mixed bag of results. On one hand, one of the two main events he won on the way to the title came on the Central California 3/8 of a mile clay oval. On the other hand, his only two finishes outside of the top ten in his championship season came in the other two appearances on the same track. Last year, at USAC/CRA’s only event at Keller, he finished sixth in the main event.

Saturday’s race will begin a busy stretch for Roa and the BR Performance crew with four races in five weeks. On April 14th, the team will trek to the Thunderbowl Raceway in Tulare, California. One week later on April 21st, they will be in action at Perris Auto Speedway. After one week off, they will head to the Ventura Raceway on May 5th. BRODY ROA GETS FOURTH IN USAC/CRA OPENER IN ARIZONA!

(Buena Park, CA, March 15, 2018) Brody Roa kicked off his 2018 USAC/CRA Sprint Car Series championship effort by coming from 11th to finish fourth in the 30-lap main event last Friday night at Peoria, Arizona’s Canyon Speedway Park.

Coming off a win in the USAC West Coast Series main event the week before at the Dirt Track at Las Vegas Motor Speedway, Roa started the evening off by timing in 11th fastest out of 24 cars in qualifying. He followed that up with a fourth place-finish in his heat race.

For the main event, the 27-year-old Garden Grove, California racer started on the inside of the 6th row. Once the green light came on, he began clawing his way forward. By the halfway point Roa had advanced to sixth and he progressed another spot higher to break into the top five for the first time on the 19th circuit.

Once Roa got into the top five he quickly became embroiled in a tense war for fourth. He took that spot as well and closed on the third-place car, but time ran out before he could advance any farther.

The team was prepping for the Saturday portion of the two day show when, for the second week in a row, Mother Nature intervened with rain forcing the race to be canceled.

The BR Performance team has the next four weekends off before returning to action when the USAC/CRA Series ventures north to the Thunderbowl Raceway in Tulare, California. Roa will enter that event ranked sixth in points. The following Saturday, April 21st, he will return to the site of his biggest win, Perris Auto Speedway. Last November Roa scored the win over the USAC National and CRA Sprint Cars in the Friday night preliminary of the Oval Nationals at the famous Riverside County half-mile clay oval.

In addition to his USAC/CRA duties, Roa is still looking for races in the USAC National and West Coast Series’ when his schedule (which is at the end of this release) permits. Car owners from those series interested in hiring Roa can call him 714-932-7994.

Indiana Sprint Week

With Indiana Sprint Week in our rear view mirror, it is time to thank the people that enabled it to happen. The first Thank You goes out to Mike Z. and Jim Z. of HD Industries. Without their support, BR Performance would not be the powerhouse it has become. Next is Burris Racing. Brody and his BR Performance Team can always count on Mike B when we are up against the wall. Thanks for forgoing many sets of cheater slicks for your hot rod to get us to Indy and back. Lee and Norma Leonard know the pain of touring and we really need to thank Norma for her fund-raising abilities. They helped keep methanol in the tank, food in our bellies and a roof over our heads. These three, along with all our other sponsors kept us on track. Thanks to: “Biker” Bruce Fischer, Molecule, K1 Safety Equipment, NGK Spark Plugs, Driven Racing Oil, Baldwin Filters, Shaver Specialties, Okie Race Cars, Hot Paint Restorations, and Crow Enterprizes

We also need to thank the crew. Zac Bozanich did a great job communicating with Brody and giving him what he needed to get the job done. We tried to use Tyler Stockton up, but he kept coming back for more and we appreciate his hard work. We also need to thank Matt Martini, from Lawrenceburg. He was a welcome addition to our ISW crew and we hope he will join us next year.

There are also some important people we left back in California we need to thank. Joe Gibb worked tirelessly prepping the equipment for ISW. Grandpa Roa and Uncle Bernard made sure the trailer was clean and organized for our journey. Tailor and Momma Roa made sure we were off with clean clothes and took care of the households and pets while we were off. Tim and Tracy Bozanich made sure the team hit the road with supplies to get us to Indy and back and even surprised us with a dinner delivery in Haubstadt.

Many thanks everyone for your support.

Brody and Brett
