ROA FINISHES 4TH AT PERRIS – LEADS POINTS BY 20 GOING INTO ARIZONA!

Brody Roa racked up another top-five finish when he came home fourth in the USAC/CRA Sprint Car main event last Saturday night at Perris Auto Speedway. Heading into the November 2nd and 3rd 51st Annual Western World Championships at the Arizona Speedway, Roa leads the 2018 standings by 20 points with five races to go.

Fans and teams were greeted by unseasonably warm temperatures when they arrived at the Riverside County half-mile clay oval on Saturday. All told, 24 USAC/CRA teams were in the pits for the 19th race of the 2018 campaign. When qualifying concluded, Roa was fifth fast with a lap of 16.765.

Roa started fifth and finished second in his 10-lap heat race in the eye-catching, freshly painted bright green 91R. That earned him the outside front row starting position for the 30-lap main.

The Garden Grove, California racer led the first seven circuits of the main, but he eventually slipped all the way back to the fifth-place spot just before the halfway point. However, on the 16th-lap, he started to move forward and was back to fourth. He regained the third-place position on the 23rd circuit and seemed destined to finish there. But, a slight bobble on the final corner saw him slip back to fourth.

The fourth-place finish reflects the amazing consistency that Roa has put up during the 2018 season. It was his 17th top-five finish in the 19 USAC/CRA aces to date.

This past week there was no racing on the schedule and Roa and his wife Tailor celebrated their fourth wedding anniversary. Things will change in the next two weeks on the racing end as there will be no less than five dates to decide the USAC/CRA championship. The 51st Western World Championships at Arizona Speedway will match the best in USAC/CRA and the USAC National Sprint Car Series’ over two days on November 2nd and 3rd. The following week, both groups will clash again at the 23rd Annual Oval Nationals at Perris. It was at the Ovals last year that Roa captured the biggest win of his career when he stomped the competition to score a convincing win in the Friday preliminary.

Brody Roa t-shirts and caps will be available in the pits at Arizona and Perris. They are also available from the team’s website at the following link http://www.brodyroa.com/. The cost is $20.00 plus shipping.
