BRODY ROA READY FOR CALIFORNIA RACERS HALL OF FAME NIGHT!

Brody Roa and the BR Performance Racing Team will be back in action this Saturday, August 18th, at the “California Racer’s Hall of Fame Night” at Perris Auto Speedway. Saturday’s event will be the final local race before the team embarks on the tough “California Sprint Week” in Northern and Central California starting on Labor Day weekend.

Saturday’s race will be the fourth of the year for Roa at the famous Riverside County half-mile clay oval. In the previous three performances, he has a second-place finish, one third and an 11th place result. He comes into Saturday’s race 25 points out of first place in the championship standings. The 27-year-old finished third in the last USAC/CRA event at the Santa Maria Raceway on August 4th. All told in eight starts in the series this year Roa has two wins, one second place finish, three third place outings, a fourth and the 11th.

Saturday’s “California Racer’s Hall of Fame Night” will have more than $10,000.00 added to the normal purse. Included will be the $500.00 “Billy Wilkerson Fast Time Award,” the $2,000.00 “Junior Kurtz Trophy Dash,” $300.00 to the winner of each heat race, $4,000.00 in lap money, an extra $1,500.00 to the winner of the main event and an additional $500.00 to the driver who finishes second in the main. All told, any driver who was to sweep the show and lead every lap of the main event would take home a minimum of $9,900.00.

At the 2017 California Racers Hall of Fame night, Roa turned out to be one of the big stars of the show when he won the “Junior Kurtz Trophy Dash” and took home its $1,000.00 first place prize money.

For fans who would like to attend Saturday’s race, spectator gates will open at 5:00 P.M. and the first race will be at 7:00. Early arriving fans will be able to meet and get the autographs of many of the sports top stars from years gone by in the track’s sports bar.

After Saturday’s race at Perris, the crew will be busy Getting the car ready for the grueling “California Sprint Week” which begins on Labor Day weekend. Consisting of 6 races on 5 different tracks in only 8 days, “California Sprint Week” will go a long way in determining who wins the 2018 USAC/CRA championship.
