(Cypress, CA, July 17, 2018) Southern California Sprint Car racing star Brody Roa is headed off to Indiana for the tough Indiana Sprint Week. The grueling test for drivers and crews will encompass seven nights of racing on seven different tracks in just nine days.
This nine-day foray to the Hoosier State will mark Roa’s second appearance in the USAC National Series in 2018. Last month he finished 14th in a race at Nebraska’s I-80 Speedway and then came from the ninth starting spot to finish fifth the following night at the Knoxville Raceway in Iowa.
This year will be Roa’s third appearance at Indiana Sprint Week and the first time he has contested it two years in a row. Last year, he competed in five of the races in the seven-race series (two races were rained out). He qualified for the main event in all five of the races with an eighth-place finish at Lawrenceburg being his best result.
This year’s Indiana Sprint Week will consist of races at six of the seven tracks the series took place at last year. The new track on the schedule will be the “Playground of Power,” Plymouth Speedway, which opens the tour this Friday, July 20th. The series will conclude on July 28th at Tri-State Speedway in Haubstadt, Indiana. Jammed in between will be races at the Kokomo Speedway, Lawrenceburg Speedway, Terre Haute Action Track, Lincoln Park Speedway and the Bloomington Speedway.
Roa, 27, will take an impressive 2018 resume back to the battles in Indiana. The Garden Grove resident has five sprint car wins in three different series this year. Included are two wins in the USAC/CRA Series where he is currently ranked second in the championship standings. He has another two wins in the USAC West Coast Sprint Car Series where he was crowned champion in 2016. His other win came while competing in the Ventura Racing Association.
