BRODY ROA TAKES 2nd AT PERRIS AUTO SPEEDWAY OPENER!

(Buena Park, CA, April 24, 2018) Brody Roa’s impressive season continued last Saturday night when he recorded a second-place finish in the annual “Sokola Shootout” at Perris Auto Speedway’s first USAC/CRA Sprint Car Series race of 2018. The runner up finish gives Roa five top four finishes in his first six races this year.

A large crowd showed up to catch its first 2018 glimpse of the USAC/CRA Series at the famous Riverside County half-mile clay oval. Roa was one of the many drivers who gave the fans their moneys worth. In qualifying, he turned in the fastest time in the 25-car field with a sizzling 16.378. For that effort he pocketed $100.00 from the Woodland Auto Display. For the 27-year-old, it was his fifth lifetime fast time in the series.
The veteran Garden Grove, California driver raced from sixth to finish second in his heat race and that guaranteed his outside row three starting spot in the main event.

After the original start was called back, Roa immediately began to move forward once the green flag waved. He stole the fifth-place spot on the second go around and a couple of laps later, he raced his way up to fourth. He then advanced to third on a lap five restart.

Roa took the second spot away on lap 16, but the track was taking rubber and passing would soon become at a premium. Try as he might, catching the leader did not happen. On lap 28 Roa received a stiff onslaught for his second place position. He did manage to fight off the assault and crossed under the checkered flag with his third straight podium finish and his fourth podium of the 2018 campaign.

“We will take second,” Roa told the big crowd moments after climbing out of the bright green #91R. “I don’t know if we would have had something for him if it did not take rubber. But, once it does (track take rubber) you just get in line and don’t burn your stuff up. Ventura is next. We will have our stuff together there. Thank you to all of the fans for coming out tonight.”

The Ventura race Roa was referring to will take place on May 5th. Heading into that event he is second in the USAC/CRA championship point standings and is only 16-points out of first. That race will be followed up by the next show at Perris Auto Speedway, the annual “Salute to Indy,” on Memorial Day weekend. Soon after that the BR Performance team will head to the Midwest for the first time in 2018 for races in Nebraska and Iowa.

Roa is still looking for rides in the USAC National and West Coast Series’ when his USAC/CRA schedule (which is at the end of this release) permits. Car owners from those series interested in hiring Roa can call him at 714-932-7994.
