BRODY ROA WINS MAIN AT HANFORD – RACING AT TULARE THIS SATURDAY!

(Buena Park, CA, April 11, 2018) After last Saturday’s USAC West Coast Sprint Car Series main event at the Keller Auto Speedway at the Kings Fairgrounds in Hanford, California, Brody Roa is batting .500 on the season with two wins in four starts. This Saturday night he will attempt to up his impressive average when the USAC/CRA Sprint Cars compete at the Thunderbowl Raceway in Tulare, California.

Roa’s night at the Central California oval began when he qualified seventh fastest in the 20-car field. The 27-year-old started on the outside of the front row for his heat race and brought it home in second place.

For the 30-lap main event, the brilliant green BR Performance 91R started on the outside of the second row. Early in the yellow flag plagued race, it looked as though Roa was headed the wrong way as he slid all the way back to seventh. However, he slowly and methodically worked his way toward the front. By the midway point, he was up to third and the chase was on.

While most of the competition chose to hang close to the pole, Roa realized that was not going to work for him and he went to the outside. For the few who earlier dared to head out there, there was little to be found. That did not deter Roa. He hung with the wide line and it paid dividends. He swept into the lead coming off of turn four at the end of the 24th circuit. Soon after he fought off some determined challenges for the top spot and eventually pulled away to win his second main event of 2018 by nearly a half straightaway.

“It definitely was not easy, that is for sure,” Roa told the appreciative crowd after the race. “After the first few laps, we fell back to like seventh so we really had to work for this one. This place is pretty racy and it is super wide. It gives you the option to go up there and hustle it. It made it fun. We will be back up here later in the year with the 410 (USAC/CRA race on September 8).”

This coming Saturday’s race in Tulare will be the second for the USAC/CRA Series in 2018. In the first race at Canyon Speedway Park in Peoria, Arizona, Roa finished fourth. He heads into Saturday’s show sixth in USAC/CRA points.

After this week’s race in Tulare, the team will be right back at it when the USAC/CRA Series makes its first appearance of 2018 at Perris Auto Speedway. After a week off on April 28th, the BR Performance team will then journey to the Ventura Raceway for a USAC/CRA race on May 5th.
