(Buena Park, CA, March 15, 2018) Brody Roa kicked off his 2018 USAC/CRA Sprint Car Series championship effort by coming from 11th to finish fourth in the 30-lap main event last Friday night at Peoria, Arizona’s Canyon Speedway Park.
Coming off a win in the USAC West Coast Series main event the week before at the Dirt Track at Las Vegas Motor Speedway, Roa started the evening off by timing in 11th fastest out of 24 cars in qualifying. He followed that up with a fourth place-finish in his heat race.
For the main event, the 27-year-old Garden Grove, California racer started on the inside of the 6th row. Once the green light came on, he began clawing his way forward. By the halfway point Roa had advanced to sixth and he progressed another spot higher to break into the top five for the first time on the 19th circuit.
Once Roa got into the top five he quickly became embroiled in a tense war for fourth. He took that spot as well and closed on the third-place car, but time ran out before he could advance any farther.
The team was prepping for the Saturday portion of the two day show when, for the second week in a row, Mother Nature intervened with rain forcing the race to be canceled.
The BR Performance team has the next four weekends off before returning to action when the USAC/CRA Series ventures north to the Thunderbowl Raceway in Tulare, California. Roa will enter that event ranked sixth in points. The following Saturday, April 21st, he will return to the site of his biggest win, Perris Auto Speedway. Last November Roa scored the win over the USAC National and CRA Sprint Cars in the Friday night preliminary of the Oval Nationals at the famous Riverside County half-mile clay oval.
In addition to his USAC/CRA duties, Roa is still looking for races in the USAC National and West Coast Series’ when his schedule (which is at the end of this release) permits. Car owners from those series interested in hiring Roa can call him 714-932-7994.
